How to make a change to your organization, team or any process

Change is inevitable, but many leaders are unsure of when, or how or what to do. Effective change and transition can be tricky but it doesn't have to be hard.

Involve those who are directly impacted by the potential change and ask for their feedback and input. Perhaps, have them be a project or change leader and make them a champion for your change initiative.

Collect data on the current situation and evaluate the current process. Review the current metrics and don't assume you know the root cause. Determine the pain the current situation is causing.

Design and develop the change initiative with stakeholders, team members and those directly impacted. Don't do this in a silo. Gain buy-in and resist the urge to make immediate change without following these steps. Don't change something just to make a change. It has to be valid, needed and valuable.
